John 1:50

Jesus said, “You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You will see greater things than that.”

THE PURPOSE

GREATER THINGS is a 25-month capital campaign to raise the funds needed to meet the challenges we are currently facing with safety, growth, and community life. It will also set the church up for long-term success in its mission for generations to come.

THe Goal

We have two goals. Both goals are substantial, require sacrifice, and will go a long way in helping us accomplish what we need to accomplish. So, why two goals? The first goal is based on giving trends over the past four years. To reach this goal, each of us will need to stretch ourselves, make sacrifices, and give more than we have ever given before. The second goal is a goal based on complete trust and reliance on God. It will require great sacrifice, complete trust in God for our individual needs, and a belief that God will use us to do Greater Things at PCC and in our own lives.

The Motivation

Philip learned Jesus is the one Moses and the Prophets wrote about. He immediately went to find his friend Nathanael to tell him the Messiah had come. Nathanael was skeptical. He didn’t believe what his friend was telling him. Nathanael didn’t believe until Jesus spoke to him about seeing him sitting under a fig tree earlier that day. Nathanael confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, the king of Israel. Jesus said, as Eugene Peterson paraphrased it, “You haven’t seen anything yet!” We believe God will do GREATER THINGS at PCC because of our prayers, faithfulness, and sacrifices.

Pray: That God will open our hearts and minds to what can be with Greater Things.


Give: We ask you to pray about making a financial commitment Above and Beyond your regular giving as we walk this path together.


Give Courageously: Give the largest gift your have ever given to the church on May 5.


Give Consistently: Make a 25-month pledge to Greater Things. Plan weekly or monthly giving over the next two years.


Give Creatively: Think of non-cash gifts of real estate, cars, stocks, jewelry and assets.
