Our Story

On December 23, 1979, Poinciana Christian Church was founded by our mother church, Kissimmee Christian Church. We are indebted to the small group of people who remained faithful during those first few difficult years. In 1984, a meeting was held with the 6 remaining members to dissolve the church. Dick Marshall, a local Christian Church minister, heard about the meeting and asked to be given a chance to lead the church and keep the doors open.

Four years later, a committed group of about 60 people moved into a new 5,000 square foot facility, which is now the home of New Dimensions High School in Poinciana. Mark Atteberry became our minister in 1989. God continued to bless this small, dedicated group with steady growth. It soon became apparent that in order to reach more people, we would need to buy property and a new building. In January of 2003, we were blessed to move into this new facility.

In September of 2020, Mark retired and Mike Black stepped into the role as Lead Pastor. Now Poinciana Christian Church stands proud as an ever-growing congregation of people who want to be more like Jesus and spread his word and love to the community. To God be the glory!
